Short videos from your favorite Arrowhead Library System librarians with fun activities to do at home. Each library will present an approximately 5-minute video lesson on a particular subject (like music, science, wellness, writing, math, or art). All of the lessons will share a common theme. This month’s theme is community! 


Videos will be posted daily at 8am (Monday-Saturday) the week of November 9-14 on the ALS Library Shorts Blog.

  • Santa Drive By Parade -  The Evansville Fire District will be taking Santa and Mrs. Claus through Evansville to wave at the children starting at 10am.   Check Facebook event for tracking link on the day of the event; to track in real time where they are along the route.

  • Hot Chocolate & Ornament Kit Giveaways!!  Since we can't have hot chocolate and ornament making at carriage rides this year; we have FREE ornament making kits for kids sponsored by State Bank of Cross Plains and hot chocolate gifts for the adults sponsored by Ceili Coffee and Wine Bar (while supplies last).  Locations listed here. 

  • #LoveLocal DRAWINGS!!!  Stop in participating stores and get entries for the LoveLocal giveaways; with opportunities to win local gift certificates and prizes.   Winners will be contacted and posted on Facebook at the beginning of December.

  • Keep the Cheer Here Promotions - Support local businesses this year.  For a listing of businesses, hours, products, and ways to shop check out our listings and support your local community.  

  • Polar Express Story Walk- The Eager Free Public Library has partnered with local businesses to post The Polar Express pages in windows throughout downtown.  Take a stroll on Main St. and read the story. 

  • Let It Glow - Holiday Light Home Decorating Tour - Are you decorating for the holidays?  Send us your address through the link and we will add you to the list.  Then grab a hot chocolate, turn on some holiday music and drive around to check out all the holiday lights. 

  • Business Decorating Contest - Businesses are getting all festive for the holidays.  We will upload photos of the decorated businesses to our Facebook page and you can vote for your favorites by liking their photo.

The St. John’s Holiday Bazaar will be nothing like we’ve seen before! Get ready for a parking lot extravaganza with a Bazaar meal delivered to your car. Guests will fill out an order sheet from the safety of their cars and submit it to a personalized shopper. Pop your trunk, and your shopper will place your gifts, cookies, cans and quilts.
