Managing Time and Building a Culture of Collaboration

The Evansville Chamber of Commerce is excited to host the HR Competencies Manager, Sarah Carroll from UW Madison to Evansville.

She will be presenting on How to Prosper in the Time Space Continuum and Build a Culture of Collaboration

In this interactive session, we’ll explore alternative ways of thinking about what is classically known as “time management” and share practices that can support your ability to prosper within inevitable constraints of time and space.  We’ll also explore the four phases of project management and why collaboration with others is so critical to achieving successful outcomes

Sarah Carroll is the developer and lead facilitator of the HR@UW Competencies Program within the HR Communities of Practice (HR CoP) Office in the Office of Human Resources at UW–Madison. The HR CoP office was formed in 2015 to foster the development of communities of practice (CoPs) among human resources professionals across UW–Madison.  Sarah has a M.A. in education with an emphasis in adult learning and organizational development, and 15 years of human resources experience, including recruitment, on-boarding, training and staff development, in a variety of settings including non-profits, healthcare, the performing arts, and information technology.

Kerosene Kites at The Grove Market

Concert:  7-9pm
Cost:  $10/person, 12 & Under Free
Doors Open:  630pm

After years of co-writing sessions, festival planning, and overall "big idea" cultivating, Beth Kille (of Beth Kille Band) and Erik Kjelland (of The Mascot Theory) now perform as a duo under the name "Kerosene Kites" and play shows as a full band when rocking out is deemed necessary.  These prolific songwriters and co-founders of Flannel Fest began co-writing in the fall of 2013 after both were members of the Nashville Songwriters Association - Madison Chapter. Shared experiences of life on the road and supportive families at home allowed for a common lyrical bond and a basis for their holiday-themed North Star Sessions album released in December 2014. In December 2016 Kerosene Kites released "Under Cover Holiday" an album of re-imagined holiday classic holiday songs. They finally ran out of Christmas spirit in November of 2017 when they released their first non-holiday album "Float Away."

Healthy Living with Chronic Pain Workshop

The Healthy Living With Chronic Pain (HLWCP) workshop is FREE of costs to participants and facilitated by two trained leaders, one who has been affected by chronic pain. The workshop meets for 2½ hours, once a week, for six weeks and attendance at every session is required. At the end of the six weeks, each participant will receive a $10 gas or Amazon gift card for each session that they attended.

Join the HLWCP workshop to explore ways to better manage your chronic pain. This community-based program is very interactive, where mutual support and success build participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their pain and maintain active and fulfilling lives. You'll build your "toolbox", set your own goals and priorities. Week by week, you'll see what works for you and take steps toward healthier living. This workshop does not replace existing treatments but serves to complement a participant’s medical treatment. This program is not meant for people who have pain medication addiction issues.

This workshop is designed for adults dealing with on-going (chronic) pain and people who provide care for or live with people that deal with chronic pain and is proven to;
