Evansville Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Board Member Spotlight

The  Evansville Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is served by a 12 person volunteer Board. The board works diligently and donates many hours providing strategic planning, budget oversight and serving on many committes planning member benefits, activities and community events.

 

Melissa Dailey, Formecology, LLC

Role at Company: Office Manager; we are a stustainable (eco-friendly) landscape design/build/care company.

Why do you participate in the chamber? We are members to not only promote our business but to also network and collaborate with other business owners.

Favorite thing about being a chamber member? The opportunity to learn more about the Evansville community and our local businesses.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? A good deal at rummage/yard sales.

What is your greatest fear? Not being around long enough to watch my children grow into adulthood and start their lives/families.

Where is your favorite place to be? Home in my sweatpants and ponytail! I'm a homebody. 

Where is the best place you've traveled to and why? I'm orginially from Ohio so I love going back to visit my family and best freind of 30 years.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren't doing this? To be honest, I really dont know. I've tried a few things over the years but haven't quite "found myself" yet. After being a stay at home mom, I rolled right into Formecology, LLC and both of those have been very fulfilling.

Favorite line from a movie? Anything from Chris Farley in "Tommy Boy" or "Black Sheep" and my favorite movie "A Christmas Story" - be sure to drink you Ovaltine! 

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Sing. I love to sing but am terrible at it!

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Help my family with their financial needs.

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? Watch Netflix

What is something you learned in the last week? I learned more about the installation of permeable driveways.

What's your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? I enjoy drawing.

What music is on your iPhone/Android phone? Ray Lamontagne

What chore do you absolutely hate doing? I don't iron clothes!

How do you balance your career and family? I am very fortunate to have a boss that values his employees and their families and allows the flexibility as needed for personal/family obligations.
