A Ribbon Cutting or groundbreaking is a great way to showcase your business to the community. This is a great opportunity for you and your business representatives to network with other business representatives in the Evansville area. At these events new connections can be made to build professional relationships.
Ribbon Cutting and Groundbreakings are usually held on a Tuesday or Thursday at 10am, 11am or 1pm and take approximately 20-30 mins but dates and times ca adjusted as part of a larger event (date and time needs to be agreed upon by the host and the Chamber). Each Ribbon Cutting is co-hosted by the business and the Evansville Area Chamber of Commerce.
BUSINESS HOST BENEFITS
Open to members and nonmembers, a Ribbon Cutting or Groundbreaking with the Evansville Chamber of Commerce It is easy and free.
Perfect way to showcase your business and distribute information about the products and services you offer.
Co-host will have the opportunity to address the group after the photo and share information about the business.
Offer a tour of your business.
Publicity will take place to include your logo – through weekly email blasts, Chamber website, and Chamber Facebook page.
The Chamber invites members and City representation to the event. Typical attendance is a half dozen to a dozen people for the actual ribbon cutting.
Photo will be taken and shared on the Evansville Chamber social media, e-blast and shared with the Evansville Review for publication.
CHAMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
Design invitation for theRibbon Cutting event to include business logo and brief business description.
Send invitation to all Chamber members and encourage attendance. Invitations are sent via email and Facebook Event.
Announce event at other events for the Chamber of Commerce.
If you want to send a personal note in the mail to the Chamber membership, labels can be provided to your business at no charge – at least 2 weeks notification for this benefit.
Ambassadors will be on hand to meet and greet.
Chamber provides ribbon and prop scissors for the event.
BUSINESS HOST RESPONSIBILITIES
Offer date possibilities with at least two weeks notice to the Chamber.
Send a copy of your company logo and Submit a 30-50 word description of your business to be included in the invitation and other publicity. In the description please include what you are offering in terms of refreshments, tours, drawings…
Food and drink is not typically required for this type of event, but feel free to provide samples of your products as part of your ribbon cutting.
You are welcome to open it up to your customers as a customer appreciation as well.
AT THE EVENT- Both Chamber and Business Host
Take photos with guests for after event promotion. Chamber will share with local media, Facebook and E-Blasts. Business feel free to share via your Facebook Page and other company media.
