“Chairman’s Club Spotlight”

As a member of the Evansville Chamber of Commerce, Jerry Roth from the Evansville School District was chosen for a featured Chairman’s Club Spotlight.

Jerry Roth, District Administrator/Superintendent, Evansville School District

What are three words you would use to describe the Evansville School District? Caring, Rigorous, Excellence

History:  I have lived in Evansville since 2002. I served as middle school principal from 2002 to 2006. In 2006, Itook a job with another school district, but remained living in Evansville. In 2012, I returned to Evansville to serve as the District Administrator.

Family: I am married to Brenda and we have two sons, Kyle and Nathan. Brenda is an orthodontic assistant with Smile Doctors in Janesville. Kyle attends Madison College and plans to become middle school teacher. Nathan attends Milwaukee School of Engineering and plans to become a computer engineer.

Hometown: Brooklyn, Iowa

Hobbies: Camping, Bike riding, Fishing

Favorite Food: Anything my wife cooks. She grills an awesome ribeye steak!

The last good movie you saw: Knives Out

The farthest place you’ve ever traveled: Jamaica

What is something you have been meaning to try: Meditation

What movie title best describes your life? The Fast and The Furious

If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you take with you? Other than my wife and two sons, I would take food, fresh water and shelter. If those things are on the

island already I would take a communication device to the outside world, many books and medical equipment.

What is the first concert you ever attended? I have never attended a concert, unless a high school band concert counts, then it was in 1979.

Favorite Quote:

“People are often unreasonable, irrational and self-centered.

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.

Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you.

Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.

Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.

Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.

Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.

It was never between you and them anyway.” --Mother Teresa

If people really knew me, they’d know:

  • My Christian faith guides my life.

  • I believe children are the most precious asset that exists in this world.

  • Honesty and integrity, in myself and in others, is extremely important to me.

  • Deception and manipulation are the lowest methods for accomplishing anything.
